CDRGFL version 1.01
by
Charles D. Gaefke
Disclaimer
----------
The author of CDRGFL is not responsible for any damaged, corrupted,
lost, or otherwise harmful occurrences which may occur from the use or
inability to use this program. This program has been tested and retested,
and debugged, by myself and others. To the best of my knowledge, CDRGFL
has no bugs, and will not cause any corrupted or lost data on a properly
configured BBS. To the best of my knowledge, it will not do anything more
than what is documented herein. However, I guarantee NOTHING, except that
this program will take up hard drive space.
WARRANTY

NO WARRANTY IS GIVEN, EITHER EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED, AS TO THE
FUNCTIONALITY OF THIS SOFTWARE PROGRAM. BY USING THIS SOFTWARE, YOU ARE
AGREEING NOT TO HOLD THE AUTHOR, CHARLES D. GAEFKE, RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY
DAMAGES EITHER CONSEQUENTIAL OR INCIDENTAL, WHICH ARISE FROM YOUR ABILITY
TO USE OR MISUSE THIS SOFTWARE PROGRAM. YOU ARE FURTHER AGREEING, WITH
YOUR USE OF THIS SOFTWARE PROGRAM, THAT YOU HAVE READ THIS ENTIRE DOCUMENT
AND ARE FAMILIAR WITH ITS TERMS AND AGREE TO EXEMPT CHARLES D. GAEFKE FROM
ANY AND ALL RESPONSIBILITIES IN THE EVENT OF ANY DAMAGES TO YOUR SYSTEM
WHICH ARE CAUSED EITHER THROUGH DIRECT OR INDIRECT USE OF THIS SOFTWARE
PROGRAM.
Grant of License
----------------
CDRGFL is Freeware. However, donations are accepted. :)
Distribution
------------
Feel free to distribute CDRGFL among your sysop friends. However, I do
ask that you do so only in unmodified format, in the distribution archive,
that contains the following files:
CDRGFL.CFG <- Configuration file for CDRGFL.
CDRGFL.DOC <- This file.
CDRGFL.DOS <- 32-bit DOS version of CDRGFL.
CDRGFL.OS2 <- 32-bit OS/2 version of CDRGFL.
FILE_ID.DIZ <- Short description.
What It Does
------------
CDRGFL is an "allfiles" generator for Renegade BBS systems.
Installation
------------
You can have CDRGFL installed in your Renegade directory or in a
directory of its own. For the latter, the RENEGADE environment variable
*HAS* to be set, *OR* your Renegade directory is in your PATH statement.
Unzip the distribution archive into the directory you want to install
it into. If you want to use the OS/2 executable, rename the CDRGFL.OS2 to
CDRGFL.EXE. If you want to use the DOS executable, rename the CDRGFL.DOS
to CDRGFL.EXE.
Requirements
------------
CDRGFL will run with Renegade version 10-05-94, 10-31-94, 04-05-96 or
05-11-96. Yes, I know, the filebases are different between 10-05-94 and
the newer versions of Renegade. CDRGFL recognizes what version of Renegade
you are using and uses the appropriate length of extended descriptions.
CDRGFL is 32-bit. It requires a 386 processor or higher to run. It
will *NOT* run on a 286.
Parameters
----------
The command syntax for CDRGFL is:
CDRGFL <configuration file>
If the configuration file is not specified, CDRGFL attempts to use
CDRGFL.CFG.
This makes it very simple to use multiple configurations.
Usage
-----
The first thing you need to do is configure your configuration file,
usually CDRGFL.CFG. All the instructions necessary for configuring it are
included in the file.
After that, type CDRGFL watch it fly. :)
Registration
------------
CDRGFL is Freeware. Registration is NOT required. Donations, however,
are accepted. :)
Bug Reports
-----------
At the present time, there are no known bugs in CDRGFL. Although, a
wise man once stated: "Is a program every really truly bug free?"
So...
In the event that another bug is found please let me know! For me to
fix it, I will require as much information as you can give me. So, when
contacting me about a bug, please be as precise as you can. If you can
tell me exactly how to reproduce it, all the better. If I can reproduce
it, I can fix it.
Miscellaneous Information
-------------------------
This is the fifth 'official' release of a program for me. My first was
GEMC, a program to keep a daily record of imported messages from GEcho.
The second was RGNSHOW, a program to reflect the status of other nodes from
the command line. My third was CDRMAIL, the only fully featured echomail
process for Renegade. My fourth was CDRGXFIX, an EXTENDED.DAT fixer.
I am in no way affiliated with any group or company. I author alone.
CDRGFL was compiled with Watcom C++ v 10.6.
If a new Renegade is released with modified structures, I will update
CDRGFL as soon as I get the structures for the upgraded Renegade.
How to get CDRGFL
-----------------
The latest version of CDRGFL can always be FREQed from 50:530/1 or
1:129/230, my BBS, or you can call and DL it at 412-746-3592 (free DL on
first call).
Magic name is: CDRGFL
CDRGFL can be obtained from a couple places off of the InterNet:

Credits
-------
My thanks to Watcom for their IDE interface. Without it I would be
lost. Many thanks to Cott Lang and Patrick Spence for Renegade - the best
BBS around. Thanks to Patrick Spence for his advice and letting me know
what the future of Renegade holds.
Thank you to Andrew Clarke for his excellent VidMgr code. Without his
code, the OS/2 version of CDRGFL would still be in development.
Merci beaucoup to my Fiancé Tasha for listening to all my gripes and
complaints when things did not go the way they should while programming.
Je t'aime.
Many thanks to all of my Beta testers, especially Charles Bowman.
And, most importantly, I thank God Almighty for the life and abilities
He hath given me.
